DEV NOTES
- This game was in development for nearly four years and remains unfinished to this day. Sadly, the most up-to-date build was lost in a hard drive wipe and I don't think I can recreate everything that was lost, so it'll probably remain at 0.3.1 forever. The game is playable start-to-finish and includes about 4/5ths of the intended content in terms of items, adjectives, secrets and so on. I don't think anything is really *visibly* missing from the current build, but it's very buggy and a lot of the art is placeholder. Still, there's a LOT of content in here, and you should be able to enjoy it despite its marginal incompleteness.
- There are 18 achievements in this game (saved across runs), which you can see by typing 'achievements' in-game. Many of them are for completing the game with different class types or slaying difficult monsters, but here are some hints on the more obscure ones (highlight to view): Try these: using the NECRONOMICON on yourself and then completing the game, completing the game with player name HARDMODE, completing the game as a pacifist, reaching level 10, killing 45 monsters in one run, taking a lot of LSD in one run, completing the game with the adjective CURSED, buying out Gary the Goblin's stock, and completing the game with a full inventory of staple removers.
- There are several in-game hint systems, between the two hint shops and tips you might pick up from scrolls. If you're still having trouble reaching the end, you may not be saving up enough resources for the later floors. You don't want to use a lot of dodges or items early on, when you can still rely on level-ups to heal. Personally, I try to have at least 10 dodges stocked up for floors 14 and 15, and as many monster-clearing items as possible for the end. VORTEX, LAUGHING GAS, TELEPOROMETER, CONTRACT, and stacked LSD are particularly useful for avoiding dangerous mobs who might block progress near the end.
- Stats of winning and losing runs are stored in the game's "saves" sub-folder, you can look at them if you want to bask in the memories of your past victories :)
