DEV NOTES
- I sometimes find it easier to find inspiration from games I don't like than games I do. This game is primarily an attempt to improve upon Tetris'd, a game that I thought had a great premise that was squandered by a lack of ideas. In general I think endless runners get old quickly, because once you've gotten the hang of things there's nothing new or interesting the game can surprise you with. So, Connect the Apocalypse puts the basic Tetris'd formula into a set of linear challenges, each with their own spin on the mechanics. I enjoy working through a varied set of unique levels much more than just doing the same thing again and again... hopefully you feel the same way.
- For some reason at the time this was being developed I had this dumb idea that I would make the guy from The Scream a sort of regular fixture or calling card for games I make. The little guy in the background with the checker head is supposed to be the scream-guy. I would then immediately forget about this and have never used the scream-guy in a game since.
- My high score in the "main" endless mode is about 13 stages, but others have gone higher. I believe the current world record is about 18. Can you beat it?!?!?!?!?!?
